Symposium Digital Cluster of Medical Textiles

Next Technology Tecnotessile, as co-organizer, was present at the symposium Digital Cluster of Medical Textiles hosted by MFC Pôle – Polo di competitività del Tessile di Monastir – ElFejja in Monastir (Tunisia) on the 31st May 2022 under the TEX-MED ALLIANCES EU project.

With more than 200 participants, on-site and virtual, the focus of the event was dedicated to #medicaltextile and #medicaldevices.
The symposium brought together the medical textiles ecosystem to address several aspects inherent to the smooth running and promotion of the sector.

This event was the official kick-off of the new Health Textile Digital Cluster in the Mediterranean. This platform has the aspiration to identify the main stakeholders, mobilise companies at a distance and create synergies and exchanges in order to create fruitful alliances and high added value partnerships among the health textile companies, investigation centers and health administrations. With these objectives in mind, the symposium brought together the medical textiles ecosystem to address several aspects inherent to the smooth running and promotion of the sector.

Andrea Falchini, director of Next Technology Tecnotessile and Matteo Malpaganti from NTT, presented the activities of the research centre and the main trends and challenges related  to Materials and processes for textile medical devices and personal protective equipment.

This digital cluster, which already brings together dozens of Mediterranean companies, facilitates access to certification, analysis and testing, business opportunities and tenders as well as monitoring and networking activities. In the symposium, the Digital Cluster’s online platform was presented and its intuitive, easy-to-access and easy-to-use aspect and the various complementary sections were highly appreciated by the audience.
