Circula-TEX aims to support the EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles by redesigning textile value chains with a circular approach, ensuring compliance with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes and European directives. The project will address gaps in the current textile value chain, focusing on technological, environmental, economic, legal, and social aspects, and assess the effectiveness of EPR schemes and other measures to enhance sector sustainability.
Through co-creation approaches and case studies, Circula-TEX will develop practical recommendations for circular textile management, including solutions to scale up recycling and reuse via eco-design, material identification systems, and waste treatment innovations. A labeling system aligned with the Digital Product Passport and the ESPR regulation will promote reuse and the uptake of secondary materials.
Initial findings, validated through four case studies, will be expanded to other textile market segments and EU countries.”
