BLUENET created new life for abandoned, lost or discarded fishing and aquaculture gear, addressing the issue of marine litter. This waste poses significant dangers to marine life, such as entanglement, and represents an economic loss of valuable materials. The project has focused on removing and recycling these fishing and aquaculture materials to enhance the local circular economy, recovering gear from the sea and using it as raw material to manufacture new gear.
